How are people making grenades?

Post by Freeman » Sun Apr 08, 2012 12:19 pm

I've been trying to work out how to get enough weight in a grenade for it to carry any distance and still be larp safe. I've seen a coupl eof tenis balls with stuck on bits, and pipe lagging, but not sure how they're weighted.
Are would a bean-bag 'core' be considered larp-safe for a thrown genade?

Mine were stress balls and camping mat, with teh application of a knife.

I found that if you try and throw them hard, they dont go anywhere, but a gentle toss works quite well.

I have known better quality larp throwing daggers to be "cored" with leather to give them weight without edges etc. If that was inside your pipe lagging it might work (pending ref approval obviously :D ).

I've seen lead-weight tape (for curtains) used in throwing knives, but I'm not sure how useful that is for grenades.

Wouldn't put lead in them.
Plasticine is good though. Or a condom full of water.
