Paddles for a defib machine

Hi guys, I'm making a defibrillator prop, or trying to, but I'm stuck for what to make the zapppy paddle bits from. Any ideas?

Have you ever seen those flat grey sponges for shining shoes without shoe polish? I think those might work pretty well if you attached some wires to them.
